A CMS core model is an invaluable investment for organizations looking for vendor oversight or robust physics analysis. All Studsvik applications utilize the same base core model for applications ranging from in-core fuel management to spent fuel analysis.
For organizations lacking the engineering resources or expertise with the CMS code package, Studsvik can develop and maintain a high-fidelity core model. As part of the core model development, the predicted results will be qualified against measured plant data. This validated core model can then be further used by Studsvik or the customer for future reactor analysis service.
Utility customers interested in S3R, Studsvik’s cycle-specific training simulator core model, only can choose to have Studsvik develop a core model in conjunction with plant installation. This model can, optionally, be transferred to the utility for update by core designers and engineers, or maintained by Studsvik engineers.
The Studsvik neutronics suite can analyze fuel over the entire lifecyle, from design to spent fuel storage. Beginning with a steady-state core model, data can be exported as proprietary binary files and linked into downstream codes for transient analysis, core monitoring, burnup credit analysis or exported to the training simulator core model.
