S3R Real Time Core Training Simulator Core model

SIMULATE-3R (S3R) is a S3K software derivative which provides real time, cycle specific core analysis capabilities for BWR and PWR plant simulators. S3R solves the 3-D, two-group, neutron diffusion equations for both BWRs and PWRs with explicit radial representation of each fuel assembly, utilizing 12 to 24 axial nodes-per-assembly.

Unique features of S3R neutronics: full two-group diffusion model, fourth order polynomial spatial coupling, assembly discontinuity factors, explicit reflector, explicit spacer model for spacer flux depressions in TIP calculations, and a pin power reconstruction model for calculation of pin powers.

S3R has been integrated with the products of most major simulator vendors, including Thunder Simulation, RNI Technology, GSE Systems, CAE, L-3 MAAPS, DS&S, SAIC and Western Services.
